It has been suggested that children hold mistaken views about the ‘pure’science that they study at school。 Many studies have shown that children harbour misconceptions about ‘pure’, curriculum science。 例如:剑5的26页中一道判断题为some pollution problems have been correctly linked to industrialisation。文章中原话:most forms of environmental pollution either appear to have been exaggerated, or are transient— associated with the early phases of industrialisation。

例如剑5的73页中第37题出现了“The film 2001:A Space Odyssey ”,考生很容易将这道题的答案直接定位到文中最后一段首句“The 1969 film 2001:A Space Odyssey…”

1n 1985, AI was at its lowest point。 Most researchers agree that AI peaked around 1985. Ninety percent of all Pacific salmon caught are sockeye or pink salmon。而在原文中就是以阿拉伯数字的形式出现:…and 90% of all Pacific salmon commercially caught in North America…。

In September 2000, the MSC allowed seven Alaska salmon companies…

Large baleen whales primarily use the lower frequencies and are often limited in their repertoire。

1.并列连词主要包括:and; as well as; eithor…or;similarly等等。 But in today’s world, factors such as government initiatives and _____are contributing to a huge decrease…。

In the UK, travel time to work had been stable for at least six centuries,…。 However, public infrastructure did not keep pace with urban sprwal, causing massive congestion problems which now making communting times far higher。 所以小标题“vii Increases in travelling time”为正确答案。

3.表示递进的连词有很多,例如not only…but also或者in addition to。 剑5的44页第四段第二行为:…but humans, who have developed a much more complicated internal life as a result of language, respond emotionally not only to their surroundings, but to their own thoughts。

如果考生们看到:as a result; result in; so; therefore; consequently等词,要关注之后的信息。 The way rewards are distributed should be transparent so that employees perceive that rewards or outcomes are equitable and equal to the inputs given。 答案就会选“I Ensure the reward system is fair。”

A the first wave; B the second wave; C the third wave。

Cooley (1902) suggested that a sense of the self-as-subject was primarily concerned with being able to exercise power。从这句话可以看出,Cooley这个人的观点比较复杂,但是如果再看下文,就会发现有一个for example,之后的例子就比较简单:infants learn that when they cry or smile someone responds to them。

  Example 1:

One of the brain’smost difficult tasks is to

  A. react to their ownthoughts

  B. helped createlanguage in humans

  C. respond instantlyto whatever is happening

Making a rapidemotional assessment of the events of the moment is an extremely demanding jobfor the brain, animal or human.

考生应该能够敏锐地发现extremelydemanding是most difficult的代换,由此确定该句所表达的意思是正确答案,在list中搜寻正确的选项时,句子中的内容被再一次代换,其中原文中 rapidemotional assessment of the events被代换为respond instantly towhatever is happening, 至此,答案为C。

  Example 2:

It has been suggestedthat children hold mistaken views about the 'pure' science that they study atschool. Manystudies have shown that children harbour misconceptions about 'pure' science, curriculum science. 短短一句话我们可以发现有三组四处同义替换,分别为suggested-shown;hold-harbour; mistaken views-misconceptions; science that they study atschool-curriculum science.

  Example 3:

Some people maybelieve that the teacher- subjects’ behavior could be explained as a positivesurvival mechanism.

One’sfirst inclination might be to argue that there are must be some sort of built inanimal aggression instinct that …

  Example 1:

Despite substantialfunding, results (of this program) have been disappointing.

This program failedalthough they received sufficient funding.

  Example 1:

原文:Computers are gainingin popularity, despite their cost.

题目:Computers are morepopular than they used to be.

原文当中的gaining in popularity题目中用morepopular than they used to be作为替换。

  Example 2:

原文:Biologically, aspecies becomes extinct when its last individual dies.

题目:In biological terms,a species is said to be extinct when only one individual exists.

Become则由issaid to be作为替换。

  Example 3:

There were severalreasons for the research into plastics in the nineteenth century, among themthe great advances that had been made in the field of _____and the search foralternatives to natural resources like ivory.

Theimpetus behind the development of these early plastics was generated by anumber of factors- immense technological progress in the domain ofchemistry,.......其中,in the field of意思等同于inthe domain of“在....

In recent years, manyof them have been obliged to give up their _____ lifestyle, but they continueto depend mainly on _____ for their food and clothes.
